Stocknack App
Stocknack ("The New Music Market") is a music discovery and streaming app that helps independent artists grow through cross-platform music sharing, social data-driven artist rankings, and direct fan-to-creator connection.
Year :
2021
Industry :
Streaming & Artist Discovery
Client :
Stocknack
Project Duration :
4 Weeks

Problem :
Independent artists struggle to gain visibility on major streaming platforms, where algorithms favor already-established acts, while listeners have no easy way to discover rising talent based on real momentum (social growth, streaming trends) rather than existing popularity. Additionally, music fans often juggle multiple apps (Spotify, Apple Music) to follow different artists and playlists, fragmenting the listening experience.

Solution :
I designed a dark, immersive music app centered on discovery and playback: a personalized home feed surfaces trending artists (like "CHVLOSS"), curated radio stations, and new album releases, while a dedicated player screen delivers a premium, cross-platform listening experience — clearly showing when a track is playing "from Apple Music," reinforcing Stocknack's role as a unifying discovery layer rather than a competing closed platform.

Challenge :
The challenge was building a brand and interface bold enough to stand out in a market dominated by giants like Spotify and Apple Music, while clearly communicating Stocknack's unique value — artist ranking and community-driven discovery — rather than just looking like "another music player." The dark theme with a vibrant orange accent needed to feel energetic and current without sacrificing legibility across album art of wildly varying colors and contrast.
Summary :
Stocknack positions itself as the discovery layer indie artists need — surfacing rising talent through social and streaming data while still delivering a premium, familiar listening experience. The bold visual identity and cross-platform integration help it feel like a serious contender in music tech rather than a niche side app.
