GreenUI Design System
GreenUI is Playbypoint’s unified Design System, created to establish consistency, scalability, and efficiency across web and mobile products. Built using a Design Tokens First methodology, it provides a centralized foundation for design and development through reusable components, semantic tokens, and documented patterns.
Year :
2025
Industry :
Sport Tech
Client :
Playbypoint
Project Duration :
12 Weeks

Problem :
As Playbypoint expanded across player-facing applications, administrative dashboards, club websites, memberships, bookings, communications, payments, and reporting tools, inconsistencies began to emerge across components, typography, spacing, colors, and interaction patterns. Without a unified design foundation, teams often solved similar problems independently, leading to duplicated work, slower delivery cycles, increased maintenance complexity, and fragmented experiences across web and mobile products. As the platform continued to scale, establishing a single source of truth through a scalable Design System became essential to improve consistency, efficiency, and long-term growth.

Solution :
GreenUI was built using a Design Tokens First methodology, creating a scalable foundation that ensures consistency across Playbypoint’s entire ecosystem. The system is structured through three core layers:
Primitive Tokens — Core design values such as color, typography, spacing, radius, and elevation.
Semantic Tokens — Context-driven tokens that define how those values are used throughout the experience.
Component Tokens — UI-specific tokens that power reusable components and interaction patterns.
This architecture enables faster design decisions, easier maintenance, and a consistent experience across products and platforms.

Challenge :
The biggest challenge was designing a system flexible enough to support multiple products, platforms, and future business needs without becoming overly complex. Establishing token architecture, semantic foundations, component standards, and governance processes required balancing scalability, maintainability, and ease of adoption across teams.
Summary :
GreenUI transformed the way Playbypoint designs and builds products. By implementing a Design Tokens Firstframework, the team established a scalable and future-proof foundation that improved consistency, reduced design debt, accelerated delivery, and created a more cohesive experience for both users and internal teams.
