GMDY Website
GMDY is an athlete storytelling and monetization platform that lets fans "shop like a pro, live like a pro" — buying the same gear their favorite athletes use while giving athletes tools to monetize their personal brand, social influence, and NFT collections.
Year :
2021
Industry :
E-commerce
Client :
GMDY
Project Duration :
3 Weeks

Problem :
Athletes traditionally struggle to monetize their personal brand beyond endorsement deals controlled by sponsors, while fans have no direct way to shop products tied to specific athletes and teams they admire — the connection between "I love this player" and "I can shop like them" was missing a dedicated platform.

Solution :
I designed a bold, sports-editorial homepage anchored by dynamic athlete photography and a direct value proposition ("Shop Like A Pro. Live Like A Pro."). A structured search bar lets users filter by Sport, Team, and specific Athlete (e.g., LeBron James), routing fans straight to relevant gear. Below the fold, a featured products grid showcases real team merchandise (jerseys, shorts, accessories) with clear pricing and quick "Buy Now" actions, keeping the path from inspiration to purchase short.

Challenge :
The challenge was balancing GMDY's dual identity — part sports media/storytelling brand, part e-commerce platform — so the site felt as aspirational as a sports documentary while still functioning as a straightforward shopping experience. The dark, high-contrast hero needed to transition smoothly into a lighter, conversion-focused product grid without feeling like two disconnected websites stitched together.
Summary :
GMDY's website bridges athlete storytelling and e-commerce into a single experience — letting fans discover, connect with, and shop products tied to the athletes and teams they follow. The bold visual identity reinforces the platform's positioning as more than a store: a place where fan identity and athlete brand intersect.
